Oversoul
The mask is not my face.
It has never been my face.
It is not the face I wear now.
It was not any of the others either.
The black woman, the white man.
Not when I wore skin and not when I wore fur.
Not even when I wore a shiny carapace.
I do not belong to shape or form.
Nor to the tangled web of mind.
I am not the sum of my borrowed parts.
I am not the ache of my lonely heart.
I am all that defies explanation.
The hollow glare of absolute nothingness.
I am everything there ever was, is now or will be.
The electromagnetic pulse of swirling dust.
Rotating so far from here it does not exist.
I am the particles that bind.
I am night, I am sky, I am space, I am sound.
I am teeth, I am claws, I am feathers, I am fins.
We are time, stretching and looping.
We are One.
And I love You.
Forever.

I enjoyed this. Felt a little like a Zen koan...something you have to work out by not working out. Paradox upon paradox. Turtles (carapaces?) all the way down. Had to keep turning to see if a monk was going to whack me with a stick while I finished. I get the feeling your writing can be versatile. Looking forward to looking at more. It's sort of somehow light and deep at once. I like that.
"I love you.
Forever." ....
I cannot say enough good things about this. I loved it. Thank you Alicia.
